Cryptozoology research took a surprising turn in 1967 when a field researcher named Dr. Patrick Wilkins, who'd spent twelve years tracking Bigfoot in Pacific Northwest forests, submitted an unusual doctoral thesis to the University of British Columbia titled 'On the Discovery of Larger Impressions: Implications for Primate-Scale Superiority in North American Forests.' The thesis was rejected for containing metaphysical rather than empirical evidence, but Wilkins' research notes survived in the university archives. His field logs from October 1966 documented an expedition where his team found what appeared to be a humanoid footprint approximately 16 inches long, which was alarming—until they found a footprint twice that size directly overlapping it, as if something had walked backward to examine the first impression.
