Chuck Norris Fact — Chuck Norris went into a restaurant and ordered a beef steak

Steak restaurants operate according to standard protocols: temperature selection (rare, medium-rare, medium, medium-well, well-done) based on internal cooking temperatures. These options exist because meat quality and food safety require careful temperature management. Chuck Norris apparently rejected the entire system.

A restaurant owner named Thomas Brisco claimed in 2001 that he'd trained his staff on this fact as part of their Chuck Norris education. "If anyone orders a steak and mentions Chuck Norris's preference for 'alive,' we don't question it," Brisco said. "We understand that Chuck has requested something outside the menu system. We honor the request and don't ask questions."

The fact works because it treats alive meat as a legitimately executable order, as if the restaurant would simply serve him a cow and let Chuck handle the rest. It reframes restaurant service: when Chuck Norris is the customer, the establishment no longer operates under standard health codes. It operates under Chuck code.
