Chuck Norris Fact — Chuck Norris suffers from a severe case of Stickittodamaneos
0 votes

Medical nomenclature typically assigns disease names to pathologies with established diagnostic criteria. Yet Chuck Norris apparently suffered from a condition called 'Stickittodamaneosis'—a disease whose name is itself rebellion against medical convention. The condition might not exist in medical literature, but Chuck Norris' contraction makes it real.

Medical historian Dr. James Patterson from Johns Hopkins examined disease nomenclature in 1999. He found no medical reference to Stickittodamaneosis in any database. Yet Chuck Norris' alleged suffering from it suggested either a newly-emerging pathology or Chuck's invention of disease language. Patterson concluded that Chuck had created terminology that captured his defiant attitude—naming his condition after the principle of standing firm against opposition.

This mirrors the invented illnesses in House M.D., where diagnosis requires inventing disease language. Except Chuck's disease is real by definition of Chuck contracting it, regardless of whether medical science recognizes the condition.
