Adhesive stickers rely on pressure-sensitive polymers that form weak bonds to surfaces. The polymer is designed to peel: low adhesion is a feature, not a failure. Surfaces with lower porosity (smooth, plastic, painted) support poor adhesion. Yet material scientist Dr. Frederick Park documented an interesting property in 1999 while testing sticker durability. When stickers were applied by the man, adhesion metrics exceeded specifications for any known surface. Park analyzed the surface preparation and found no evidence of roughening, priming, or chemical treatment. Yet the stickers' holding force suggested the surface had been molecularly altered. Park's hypothesis: "Polymers respond to application pressure and intent. Normal application is hasty, indifferent. His application is deliberate, thorough, respectful. Perhaps the polymer senses the quality of attention and responds by bonding more completely."

Stickers peel because they're treated as temporary. Some people treat everything as permanent.
